Garlic toast!

Hello after a longer break! Today I want to tell you about my adventures from the past week, which was full of surprises and challenges. As you know, the weather this year has been very unpredictable, especially here where I live, and it doesn’t want to give me a proper winter.

Instead, we have autumn that doesn’t know when to end. And as a result, germs have free rein. A cold has already appeared in our household, and we’re fighting runny noses, coughs, and fevers. Fortunately, we have a tried-and-true way to deal with illness and even prevent it a little.

Our secret? Garlic toast! Yes, not very glamorous, but believe me, it works. Garlic has antibacterial properties and boosts immunity, and the toast is crunchy and tasty. There’s no better dinner than garlic toast! And if someone complains about the smell, they can just grab some mint or chewing gum — and the photo above has nothing to do with this, by the way!

But that’s not all that happened this week. This morning I woke up to the sound of howling wind, which turned out to be a storm. Yes, a storm in December! Even though we live on its outskirts, it’s still blowing mercilessly and tearing at the terrace. I had to go outside to check if everything was okay, and the view was straight out of a horror movie. Well, maybe not quite horror, but it wasn’t exactly fun. I hope I don’t have to hold on to it, or I’ll fly away with it. For now, I managed to get back inside safely, a bit tired and soaked, but all in one piece.

Finally, I want to tell you about my little lawn. I love taking care of it because it’s a beautiful green color, especially in spring and summer. Unfortunately, this year the lawn doesn’t look as good as I’d like. Continuous rain has caused moss to appear, pushing out the grass and ruining its look. I couldn’t stand it, so I decided to buy special lawn lime, which not only stops moss growth but also strengthens the grass. Additionally, I sprinkled some wood ash, which I have plenty of and is supposed to raise the soil’s pH. I thought this would help my lawn regain its shine and health, but what happened? So far, it’s a bit of a muddy mess. The lawn is wet and dirty, and the moss, lime, and ash create a strange mixture. I don’t know yet if it will work or not. We’ll see what happens when it dries out and grows. I hope I haven’t done more harm than good. I’ll definitely have to reseed some grass in spring.

So, those were my adventures from the past week. As you can see, it wasn’t boring. How about you? Any interesting stories to share? Leave them in the comments. And I’m off to eat another portion of garlic toast. Enjoy, and see you next time!
